HSG Managing Director Simon Rice highlights how the company’s support for Spondon Cricket Club is reaching new audiences.

As main sponsors of multi-medal winning Spondon Cricket Club, we were amazed and delighted to see the club featured recently on Sky Sports.

The feature focused on the power of video both on social media channels and through live-streaming – both of which Spondon CC have used to great effect.

The fielding mishap filmed at the home ground went viral across the world and was featured again on the Sky Sports piece.

Pundits also praised clubs who have embraced live streaming as a powerful way of encouraging more people – particularly youngsters – to engage with and then hopefully take up this fantastic sport.

HSG are proud to have helped Spondon CC grow in both stature and size over the past few years.

The picturesque ground in Locko Road (which boasts one of the best views in the Derbyshire league) has been re-named the HSG Oval which was a huge honour.

We are immensely proud every week to see players across the four senior teams and countless junior teams arrive in their sponsored training kit and then take to the field with HSG’s logo emblazoned on the shirts.

And SCC’s pavilion is one of the many sporting arenas who have reduced their water usage, improved their environmental impact and saved significant amounts of money by using the Ureco system in the male washrooms.

As well as financial support for the club, our washroom services team ensures that the facilities for players, umpires and supporters alike are kept in top notch condition.

Cricket is a fantastic sport to bring people of all backgrounds, cultures and ages together with a common love of the game.

So well done Spondon CC for all your achievements on and off the field and for flying the flag for HSG is such a positive and inclusive way.
