Ureco Achieves 14 Years of Savings and Improvements at the University of Derby
Date posted: 17.08.2023
The University of Derby were an early adopter of the Ureco system and, over the past 14 years, has saved more than 150,000,000 (yes, million!) litres of fresh drinking water which would, otherwise, have been flushed away. This is no mean feat, which our blog that helps you visualise just 315,000 litres of water shows here.
With thousands of students across numerous sites in the city and county – the University of Derby originally contacted HSG because they were keen to tackle bad odours from the urinals in their public space washrooms and improve their environmental credentials.
The fact Ureco has been installed for 14 years is not only a testament to the system's efficacy but also a testament to the University of Derby's forward-thinking nature regarding sustainability.
Senior Cleaning Supervisor Cleve Bailey explained:
“The washrooms at our campuses are in constant use throughout the day and we had extensive issues with bad odours and high maintenance costs due to calcification in the plumbing systems.
“We continue to receive an excellent service from HSG UK. They are always on hand for service and support and the washroom environment has been vastly improved across our campuses.”
