The Challenge
The club’s board of directors are fully committed to environmental sustainability and backed discussions with HSG to look at ways of reducing water consumption and saving money on water bills.
With a capacity of nearly 29,000 at the University of Bolton Stadium, the club was also keen to reduce the incidence and cost of unplanned maintenance – particularly on match days. As well as this, the washroom experience was improved for players, staff and fans alike through the elimination of blockages and odours.
Our Approach
The HSG technical team carried out a full survey of the University of Bolton stadium before carrying out the first part of a double-phased installation.
72 Ureco urinal sleeves have been installed in male washrooms around the stadium alongside 68 water managers.
The Result
Bolton Wanderers FC is scheduled to reduce their water consumption by nearly 14 million litres a year, which represents an annual water bill saving of £36,410.
By adopting the innovative Ureco conservation system, the club will also reduce its carbon footprint by 14.68 tonnes of CO2 a year.
Ben Cowcill, Head of Stadium & Facility Operations said: “This is a win/win situation for Bolton Wanderers FC. By adopting HSG’s Ureco system, we will be reducing our carbon footprint, saving water and money which is good news across the board.”
