The Challenge
Leeds City Council had issues with blocked urinals across their various sites across the city, so the council decided to look for a proactive approach, to prevent costly reactive callouts.
The council had existing urinal sleeves in place, but they weren’t up to the challenge of preventing uric scale build-up across its heavy footfall sites, causing blockages.
Our Approach
We entered the competitive tender to put forward our Queen’s Award-winning Ureco, and after being scored on cost-effectiveness and quality of the product, we won the tender.
The HSG technical team is now set to install 135 Ureco units in male washrooms, including Leeds Civic Hall, leisure, arts and sports centres and several community centres.
HSG will maintain the Ureco to ensure they continue to work effectively.
The Result
The Ureco system will run alongside the properties’ waterless washroom systems and save Leeds City Council substantial amounts on maintenance issues, which they can reinvest into the iconic city of Leeds.
We are confident that the 35 billion eco-friendly bio-enzymes in each Ureco that are specially designed to break down uric salt will keep Leeds City Council’s waterless urinals maintenance-free; whilst reducing the need for harsh chemicals designed to unblock urinals polluting the environment.
