HSG were first invited into Premier Foods’ Stoke-on-Trent factory in 2017. The site specialises in producing two key brands in the company’s market-leading ambient cakes portfolio – Mr Kipling and Cadbury.
Expensive and unpleasant blockages in the male staff washrooms were soon eradicated with the installation of HSG’s innovative Ureco and Uretech water conservation system and the Environmental and Hygiene team at Stoke have committed to a new five-year contract to maintain the system on-site.
They have also expanded the relationship with HSG by awarding the contract for washroom and mat services – replacing the previous service provider.
Having proven the benefits of the Ureco system and the consistent professionalism of its technical services team, HSG were able to commit to the same high standards for washroom and mat services.
The factory is now visited by the washroom and mat services team on the same day every two weeks in addition to the on-going support by the specialist Ureco team.
The washroom and mat service provision, which is replicated at another Premier Foods site in Ashford, Kent, has ensured consistently high standards of washroom hygiene with positive customer feedback.
Having installed the Ureco and Uretech system at Stoke-on-Trent, Premier Foods have reduced water usage by 498,000 litres every year with annual cost savings of £1,250. Furthermore, costly pipework repairs and drain blockages have been eradicated.
Installing the eco-friendly system has also contributed towards Premier Foods’ and the industry-wide target to reduce water usage by 25% by 2020 compared with 2007.
Stoke-based Environment and Hygiene Manager Richard Wainwright explained: “Our relationship with HSG has reaped significant improvements in the washroom experience, reduced the site’s water usage and environmental impact and resulted in significant cost savings.
“Expanding our relationship with HSG is further improving the washroom environment and I have therefore recommended HSG to other Premier Foods sites across the UK.”
